Remaxtexas.com/news launches

All of the stories in the upcoming issue of Reporter Magazine first appeared online here, on our new RE/MAX of Texas News Online website.

The goal of this website is to demonstrate that in Texas, RE/MAX affiliates are leaders in their communities and in the real estate industry.

The website launched publicly on Oct. 5, when a story in an e-newsletter message sent by RE/MAX of Texas to all agents and owners linked to a new agent press release story about Melyssa Alston joining RE/MAX Town & Country in Allen.

On the new website, along with our constant coverage of offices and agents in our RE/MAX of Texas network, we aim to publish press releases contributed by local offices about their new agents, their community events, and their continued success – and we always link back to their offices’ websites.

We also publish a Press Release of the Week feature – a press release we write and encourage offices to revise with their information instead of ours, enabling them something new to regularly tell their audience and local media outlets about.

The new website allows readers to search for a home on every page – powered by the RE/MAX of Texas and Reliance Networks’ LeadStreet system. It allows readers to quickly share what they find on our website with their social network, helping stories about our offices and agents get even more attention.

It also allows anyone to comment on our stories, and lets them do so by signing in with their existing social media accounts through the DISQUS commenting system.

The new website is built with WordPress, an open source blogging platform that was initially the brainchild of Matthew Mullenweg, a then-19-year-old University of Houston student. It is based on a WordPress theme designed by Parallelus, a WordPress theme design company created in 2010.

The website is administered by the RE/MAX of Texas Marketing team, which includes editorial and artistic contributions from Mark Bohenick, Casey Kruse, Brian Miller, Brandon Moeller and Mike Sumerlin. Want to contact them? E-mail marketing@remaxtexas.com.
