Houston, Texas – Jan. 6, 2012 – Dave Liniger, Co-Founder and Chairman of RE/MAX International, will be a keynote speaker at the 35th annual RE/MAX of Texas Statewide Convention at Moody Gardens Hotel, Spa and Convention Center in Galveston on Jan. 28.

Liniger, who holds the prestigious ABR and CRS real estate designations, is widely recognized as one of the most influential leaders in the residential real estate sales industry. Liniger has been instrumental in advising key players in the U.S. Treasury Department and the U.S. Department of Housing and Development about recommended procedures for streamlining the “short sale” process for distressed properties, a broadly-recognized drag on the housing industry and national economy as a whole. Liniger will deliver his forecast for the 2012 housing industry during a presentation at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, during the morning general session at the 35th annual RE/MAX of Texas Statewide Convention. Liniger will also speak about his experiences shaping and influencing a changing industry during an invitation-only “60 Minutes with RE/MAX” presentation on Friday afternoon.

Liniger is a pioneer of the concept of a Buyer Agency that represents buyers of existing homes in addition to sellers, and Liniger was among the first to champion the widespread inclusion of women as realty professionals. RE/MAX was founded by Liniger and his wife, Gail Liniger, in 1973, and the regional franchising office RE/MAX of Texas was founded in 1977.

Liniger is frequently credited with having done more than anyone else to improve career opportunities for working Realtor.

Liniger will appear in Saturday morning’s Opening General Session, along with real estate coaching legend Brian Buffini and RE/MAX of Texas CEO Richard Filip. The two-day conference at Galveston’s Moody Gardens Resort additionally features expert technology sessions from Google, 1000Watt Consulting, top producer panelists, and more.
