Spruce up that Facebook page with some RE/MAX cover images
Whether we like it or not, social media is here to stay. Today’s REALTORS should be utilizing every aspect of the platforms they choose to employ.
Let’s take header images on Facebook as an example. Here is a great visual canvas that’s free to use. Unfortunately, many Agents don’t use headers correctly or even worse – at all.
The key to a good header image is to know it’s size and scale. Facebook header images are 851×315 pixels and are overlapped by a square profile picture at the bottom left. Here are some examples of good header images – click on each image to see the full size, and download it to your computer, then upload it to Facebook.

Notice that there is always room in the bottom left for a profile photo. Text isn’t being covered up by the also-important profile image. The text in these images is also quick and easy to read.
When Facebook first came out with header images, they made it clear to developers that these weren’t intended to be used as advertisements. So having text point viewers to another website is frowned upon. But, short text that works with your page is fine.
Have you had good luck with header images? What software did you use? Any tips or suggestions can be left in the comment section.
